Unlike most pacemakers that are placed in a patient’s chest with leads running to the heart, the leadless pacemaker consists of nano technology capsule which is implanted through the groin into the heart. This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure, reducing the patient’s pain and stress considerably. This is only the third of its kind surgery in Mumbai so far, owing to the fact that only select cardiologists in India have access to and expertise to work with this advanced pacemaker.Pacemakers are the most common way to treat bradycardia. They help restore the heart’s normal rhythm and relieve symptoms of the condition by sending electrical impulses to the heart to increase the heart rate. This leadless pacemaker is known to be less invasive, self-contained, and 93 per cent smaller in size.“The surgery requires special training and expertise which is not widely available in our country as yet. Besides, not many hospitals have the infrastructure like the Saifee Hospital which gives doctors a bandwidth to perform a surgery of this kind. There are very few doctors who have the authority to use the leadless pacemaker and I am glad to be one of those few. It was a successful surgery and there is nothing more important to a doctor than giving patients a better life.” said Dr Aliasgar, Head of Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Saifee Hospital.Dr Yunus Loya, Head Cardialogy Department at Saifee Hospital said,”We take immense pride in the success of this surgery at Saifee hospital, which not only required distinct training and capability, but is also a very niche procedure. The post-surgery medical investigation which is critical in such cases was also provided to the patient in the best possible way.” MaxiVision Eye Hospitals launches “Mucormycosis Early Detection Centre” Saifee Hospital succeeds in surgery with the world’s smallest pacemaker News Heartfulness group of organisations launches ‘Healthcare by Heartfulness’ COVID care app Menopause to become the next game-changer in global femtech solutions industry by 2025last_img read more

The Decoction Philosophy

first_img“Ever added milk to boiling tea water? Then you must have observed, that the milk doesn’t get mingled with the tea water all at once. It takes time…..somewhere the tea water leaves its dominance and somewhere the milk gets entangled and lightens the colour. But, when time passes, everything blends together to make a perfect tea.Something similar happens with life too! It takes time to understand people to get mingled along with them. Somewhere the people establish their dominance and somewhere love mixed with compassion fades the negativity of dominance and thereby, together only we make a perfect life.”last_img read more
