Spains Javier Bardem Penélope Cruz Pedro Almodóvar Denounce Israel in Open

New York – Amid the Israeli continuous attacks on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, a group of Spanish actors, led by Spanish Oscar-winning Javier Bardem, Penelope Crux and Pedro Almodovar, published an open letter on Tuesday to voice their concern about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In the letter, they denounced the “crimes” perpetrated by Israeli against the Palestinians, which they described as a “genocide.”In the open letter published by Spanish news agency Europa Press on Tuesday, they called on the European Union to put pressure on the Israeli government to put an end to its offensive against the Palestinians and urged it to “condemn the bombing by land, sea and air against the Palestinian civilian population in the Gaza Strip.” “Gaza is living through horror these days, besieged and attacked by land, sea and air. Palestinians’ homes are being destroyed, they are being denied water, electricity [and] free movement to their hospitals, schools and fields while the international community does nothing,” the letter said. The signatories of the letter called on the Spanish government to call its Ambassador in Israel for consultations, as a form of protest against the suffering inflicted by the Israeli military on the Palestinians civilian population. On the other hand, they called on the international community to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians by means of “opening the border crossings to facilitate the mobility of the population, the entry of medical equipment, medicines and food, repairing the damage caused by Israeli attacks on physical, moral, psychological level, which cause the suffering of the civil population in Gaza, especially children.”
